Deep Fried Double Crumbed Bacon Wrapped Prawns
By Sherrie Sutcliffe and Joshua Price
These Deep Fried Double Crumbed Bacon Wrapped Prawns are an absolute delight and so simple to make.
For those with a cast net that live close to or near the coast, there is no better time of year then when the prawns are around.
This recipe can be used just as well with store-bought prawns but there is nothing more authentic then catching your own fresh batch and rescuing them from the ocean to go onto your plate.

Ingredients
1 Kilo of fresh green prawns peeled.
½ a kilo of bacon cut into strips.
Egg
Milk
Breadcrumbs
Toothpicks
Directions
Gently wrap your bacon rashes or bacon strips around the prawn and then secure with a toothpick making sure it is secure.

Making a egg and milk wash dip the bacon-wrapped prawns into this mix and then into the bread crumbs.
And then repeat this process for a double coat of bread crumbs.

Once the entire kilo is done set in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour.
Bring your deep fryer to 178 to 190 degrees Celsius and then soak for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.

These Deep Fried Double Crumbed Bacon Wrapped Prawns can be served alone or spruced up with a light salad and dipping sauce of your preference.
This recipe is so simple but one you will come back to time and time again.
